Rowing

Every year, thousands of rowers flock to Oak Ridge, Tennessee to train and compete at Melton Lake, one of the best 2,000-meter rowing courses in America. With 30 miles of flat water and a seven-lane buoyed race course, Melton Hill Lake is an excellent location for rowing spring training, head races, and rowing regattas. Over the years, the Oak Ridge Rowing Association has hosted several prestigious rowing regattas, including the NCAA National Rowing Championships and the US Rowing Junior and Club National Championships.
Oak Ridge makes it easy for rowers to train, compete, stay, and dine near the rowing venue. In fact, there are several hotels four-to-five miles from Melton Hill Lake, and many of them provide free breakfast and access to meeting rooms, lounges, gyms, and pools. The Oak Ridge Convention and Visitor’s Bureau will even arrange hotels, meals, and transportation for rowing teams as a complimentary service.
