Join a park ranger for a walk around Bissel Park. Manhattan Project National Historical Park will present a free program on Saturday, May 26, at 10 a.m. in Alvin K. Bissell Park in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The walk will begin at the Secret City Commemorative Walk and end at the International Friendship Bell. During the walk, we will discuss how and why Oak Ridge was developed and how people were encouraged to stay during the war.

The Secret City Commemorative Walk is located at the end of the parking lot next to the public library at 1401 Oak Ridge Turnpike. If you need directions, maps are available at the National Park visitor desk in the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge.

Visitors are encouraged to visit our website for more information on the park at https://www.nps.gov/mapr/oakridge.htm. For more information or directions, please contact the Manhattan Project National Historical Park at (865) 482-1942.
