Manhattan Project National Historical Park

Manhattan Project National Historical Park

The Manhattan Project National Historical Park will consist of three-sites located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee; Los Alamos, New Mexico; and Hanford, Washington. Slated to open in 2016, this historic park will feature sites, facilities, equipment, and artifacts associated with an unprecedented top-secret government program known as the Manhattan Project, which enabled the U.S. to develop atomic bombs that brought an end to World War II. The Manhattan Project National Historical Park will tell the stories of people, events, science, and engineering that changed the world forever.
