Event Details

Put on your dancing shoes, Manhattan Project National Historical Park’s Tennis Court Dances are retuning for the summer. Held on the third Thursday of the month on the Jackson Square Tennis Courts, the park recreates the open-air tennis court dances held during the Manhattan Project to entertain the 75,000 war workers and their families contained within America’s Secret City. The next Tennis Court Dances of the summer is July 20th from 7 PM to 9 PM (ET). This program is held at the historic Jackson Square Tennis Courts located between W. Tennessee Avenue and Broadway Avenue on Michigan Avenue in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. All ages are welcome to attend, and everyone is encouraged to participate. This free event will feature swing dancing music from the 1940’s
WWII era. The music will make you want to move your feet and get out on the court. Public parking is available nearby on Broadway Avenue and within multiple public parking lots near Jackson Square. Tennis Court Dances are held on the third Thursday of each month, May though October. Summer 2023 dances are held on May 18, June 15, July 20, August 17, September 21, and October 19.
